Sometimes in accidents or in daily household stuff, our body suffers from minor type of injuries in which skin is torn, cut or punctured which results in bleeding. This may include small cuts, scrapes, incisions, minor burns and pressure sores.

It is very necessary to take urgent measures to stop bleeding; otherwise the excessive blood loss can lead to severe complications. If the cut is deep to a certain degree, the only way to heal is stitching. However, a simple and easy remedy is provided in Tib that helps to stop bleeding instantly.

1Insert the Ash of Palm Leaves in the Wound or Cuts

Wash the affected body parts carefully and apply the ash of palm leaves in the wound. Palm leave is a strong dying agent and has least burning effect on the exposed skin. Some other strong drying remedies are available but they have a burning effect on the skin and cause the blood to be irritated and the bleeding to intensify.

“It is narrated that Sahl bin Sad R.A was asked about how Allah’s Messenger injuries in the battle of Uhud were treated. Sahl said, Prophet’s face was injured, his tooth was broken and the helmet he was wearing was smashed on his head. Fatimah R.A, the daughter of our beloved Prophet S.A.W., was washing the blood off while Ali R.A. was pouring water on her hands with his shield. When Fatimah realized that the bleeding could not stop, she took a burned mat (of palm leaves) and inserted the ash in the wound of Allah’s Messenger and the bleeding stopped”.  [Sahihain]

For a bleeding nose the ashes of palm leaves can be applied alone or mix with vinegar, it will stop bleeding.
